Lebron continues to raise the bar

I am done trying to convince people that hate Lebron to like him. It is like trying to convince someone that their political party, and or candidate of choice did something wrong. There are just certain things in life people can’t admit too.

It is not a secret that I have long admired Lebron James on and off the court. He is not only the greatest player I have ever seen touch a basketball, but also one of the most selfless people off of it. Sure, I was a little disappointed he went out to LA and didn’t seriously consider Philadelphia. However, I will still be rooting for Lebron to take down the Warriors out west. I am sure there will be idiots who don’t know what they’re talking about trying to discredit him along way. To make things easier, I am done trying to convince people that hate Lebron to like him. It is like trying to convince someone that their political party, and or candidate of choice did something wrong. There are just certain things in life people can’t admit too.

One of them is the polarizing figure that is LeBron James. Not only does he perform at a high-level on the court but he has been performing on a high-level off of it as well. While people base their opinions off of some interviews and press conferences from almost 10 years ago, I choose to look and see the real fact of the matter. The man has never been arrested or had any off of the court incident to speak about as of late. He is married to his high school sweetheart and has a beautiful family. However, this week he has had his biggest accomplishment to date. An accomplishment that is bigger than any NBA championship he could win.

In his hometown of Akron, he opened up an elementary school for underprivileged youth who grew up without resources (such as himself). The school and program are something that LeBron James has personally funded and put $40 million into. Students who attend the school and meet certain academic requirements will receive a full scholarship to the University of Akron later on in their college career.

So, when you think of LeBron James, think of that instead of the time he guaranteed six championships in Miami that made you hate him so much. He never had a gambling problem like Michael Jordan, nor a mistress. He’s investing his money in schooling, while Jordan invested his money in prisons. The world needs more people like Lebron James, not less of them. People talk about celebrities and athletes putting their money where their mouth is. You can’t say Lebron hasn’t done that.
